Kate Tohme is an experienced energy law attorney with legal and technical expertise in renewable energy. In her current role as Director of Interconnection Policy at New Leaf Energy, Kate works around the country engaging with diverse groups of clean energy stakeholders to improve processes for distributed generation interconnection, with a key focus on long-term system planning and cost allocation. Prior to joining New Leaf, Kate spent 4 years in private practice and served as Hearing Officer, Chief of Staff, and DG and Clean Energy Ombudsperson at the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, where she played a key role in establishing the nation’s first multi-beneficiary cost share program for interconnection. Kate is an active participant in stakeholder working groups and collaborations across the country, Co-Chair of the MA IIRG, and DG representative on the MA Grid Modernization Advisory Council.
