Managing Policy Director and Legal Counsel
GRID Alternatives
Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Alexandra (Andie) Wyatt is Managing Policy Director and Counsel for GRID Alternatives. In that role, she works with coalition partners and communities to ensure that equity is a driving principle in the transition to a clean energy economy, with a focus on federal policy and the Mid-Atlantic region (primarily DC, Maryland, and Virginia). Andie connects the real-world experience of GRID and the communities it serves with federal and state policymakers and other stakeholders, multiplying the impacts of GRID's work leveraging renewable energy to accelerate economic and environmental justice around the country. She co-leads the Solar Access for All Coalition, a leading advocate in the enactment and implementation of provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act that helped secure billions of dollars of investments in more just and equitable access to clean energy.
GRID, the nation's largest nonprofit solar installer, envisions a rapid, equitable transition to a world powered by renewable energy that benefits everyone. GRID uses a unique people-first model to develop and implement solar, storage, and clean mobility projects that serve qualifying households and affordable housing providers, while providing solar education and hands-on solar career training. GRID's policy leadership efforts have brought the tangible benefits of distributed clean energy, including electric bill savings, resilience, access to jobs and reduced pollution, to underserved and overburdened communities nationwide.
Prior to GRID, Andie advised Congress members and staff on climate, energy, and environmental law at the Congressional Research Service, and worked in the private sector at an environmental, energy, and land use focused law firm.
